London Bridge in Arizona?

Aug 3, 2006

On our way to Hualapai,Az., we just could not pass by the sign ¡°London Bridge¡± on Inter State Highway 40, just east of state border of AZ from CA.

It was located in Havasu Lake City, which means the city of lake of ¡°BLUE WATER¡±.

With UK flags and all, it did look like the real London Bridge.

and after doing little peeking and all¡¦.

it was the real London Bridge.

It was purchased from the city of London on April 18, 1968 for $2,460,00.00.  It took three years and another $4,500,000.00 to transport and rebuilt the bridge.  The Grand Opening took place October 10, 1971.

Each stones were taken apart and numbered, and after being brought to U.S., they were put back together accordingly.

This became a center-piece of the town.

And there were lots of Carp fishes.

They were all about 12-18 inches long.

The water ways were very shallow.   Looked about 2ft.

I¡¯m not sure if this has anything to do with the London Bridge but, hey they looked cool.
